About Us
Ceedee’s Montessori school was started in 2001 following Dr. Montessori’s philosophy and the method of education for the 2 ½ - 6 years old. Now Ceedee’s provides Montessori education form the age of 2 ½ – 12 years old, in appropriate child centered prepared environments. The school is recognized by the Tamil Nadu Nursery and primary education.
Montessori (pronounced MON-tuh-SORE-ee) is a comprehensive educational approach from birth to adulthood based on the observation of children's needs in a variety of cultures all around the world. It is a child centered prepared environment where the trained adult (teacher or the directress) in the environment (classroom) only guides and facilitates the children rather than teach them. So in the Pre-Primary environment the adult (teacher) is called the directress. In the elementary class the trained adult is called the teacher, is also only a facilitator, guide and mentor.

The environments are all mixed age group as one of the main principles of Montessori method.
In the Pre-Primary we have children from the age of 2 ½ - 6 year old working in the same environment. The strength in a Pre-Primary environment would be only 35 children. More of individual work as the age requires. In the elementary class we have children from the age of 6 – 12 year olds. The maximum strength in the class would be 45 children. More of group work that the age group requires.
